Ingredients
- •3 heaped tbsp (about 45 g) sattu, roasted gram flour
- •One and a half cups (300 ml) cold water

- •Black salt and regular salt to taste
- •A green chilli, finely chopped (optional)
- •A few coriander leaves, chopped
Method
- 1.Put the sattu in a large glass and add a little water first, whisking into a smooth paste so it does not go lumpy.
- 2.Add the rest of the cold water and stir well.
- 3.Mix in the lemon juice, roasted cumin, both salts, chilli and coriander.
- 4.Stir and drink straight away, over ice if it is hot out.
Coach’s note
Prefer it sweet? Skip the salt, cumin and chilli, and stir in a little jaggery or a chopped date instead. Same cheap protein, different mood.
