Peri Peri Makhana Peanut Mix

Foxnuts and peanuts roasted in ghee with peri peri masala. The crunchy 4pm answer that carries 12 g of protein a bowl.

Ingredients

  • 3 cups makhana (foxnuts)
  • 1/2 cup raw peanuts
  • 2 tsp ghee
  • 1 tsp peri peri masala (or chaat masala + red chilli)
  • Salt to taste

Method

  1. 1.Roast the peanuts dry on low heat until they crackle, and set aside.
  2. 2.Roast the makhana in the ghee on low for 6 to 8 minutes until crisp (one should snap, not chew).
  3. 3.Toss both with the peri peri masala and salt while still hot.
  4. 4.Cool completely and jar it. Stays crunchy for a week.

Coach’s note

Portion it into 3 small boxes when you jar it. A pre-portioned snack ends the "accidentally finished the jar" problem.
