Paneer Besan Toast

Ingredients

  • •2 slices whole wheat bread
  • •4 tbsp besan (gram flour) whisked with water into a thick batter
  • •80 g paneer (low fat), crumbled
  • •1 small onion and 1 small tomato, finely chopped
  • •1/4 tsp turmeric, 1/2 tsp chaat masala, salt
  • •2 tsp oil

Method

  1. 1.Whisk the besan with water, turmeric, salt, and half the chopped onion and tomato into a thick batter.
  2. 2.Dip each bread slice so both sides are coated.
  3. 3.Pan-toast in the oil on medium heat until golden on both sides.
  4. 4.Top with crumbled paneer mixed with the remaining onion, tomato, and chaat masala.

Coach’s note

Besan sets like an omelette on the bread, so this eats like a savoury French toast without any egg.
